[QzScooter] is an app for managing smart scooters. This app connects to your scooter to provide travel services.

During use, the following information will be stored on your phone: your registered personal profile (account, mobile phone number, etc.). To implement vehicle control features, this app needs to access the following permissions or functions on your phone: Bluetooth and storage permissions. Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, QzScooter will not disclose or provide such information to any third party without obtaining your prior consent.

If you do not agree to enable the relevant permissions or functions, the app may not function properly. You may uninstall the app to stop the processing of the above data or functions.

By clicking “Agree,” you acknowledge that you accept the above and the QzScooter User Agreement.

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”) applies to the QzScooter application and its services (collectively, the “Products”) provided by Qingzhou Intelligence (hereinafter “we,” “us,” or “QZ”).

We value your privacy and understand the importance of personal information to you. Through this Policy, we explain how QzScooter collects, uses, and stores your personal information, how QZ protects it, and what rights you have. Before using the QzScooter app, we strongly recommend that you carefully read and understand this Policy. By using the Products, you agree that we may process your information as described herein.

1. What information we collect and how we use it

(1) Categories of information collected

We collect information to provide better services to all users of our Products and to improve user experience. We only collect information necessary for specific, legitimate purposes and do not further process it in ways incompatible with those purposes. We may collect the following types of information (which may or may not constitute personal information):

1) Information you create or provide to us:

When you create a QzScooter account, you provide personal information such as your username, password, mobile phone number, and the channel used to register the account.

2) Information collected when you use our Products and services:

(a) Mobile phone number: QzScooter uses your mobile phone number as your account name.

(b) Vehicle information: Information related to your vehicle, such as vehicle nickname, Bluetooth MAC address, Bluetooth connection status, serial number, speed, mileage, gear, battery details, lights, lock status, speed and mileage units, instrument backlight, cruise control, energy recovery strength, and related settings.

(2) How we may use your personal information:

  1. Provide, process, maintain, improve, and develop our Products and/or services offered to you, including product features, after-sales service, and customer support, as well as services provided through devices or websites.
  2. Communicate with you regarding your devices, services, or any general inquiries (e.g., updates, customer support, information about our events, and notifications).
  3. Analyze and develop statistical information about the use of our Products and services to better improve them.
  4. Optimize device performance.
  5. Store and maintain information related to you for the operation of our business or compliance with legal obligations.
  6. Provide local services without communicating with servers.

 

Further examples of how we use your information (which may include personal information):

  1. Create your QzScooter account. Personal information collected (including when creating a QzScooter account via the WeChat platform) is used to establish your individual QzScooter account and profile.
  2. Display vehicle information. When the device is connected via Bluetooth, your vehicle information is displayed, and you can use our app to check device information and manage settings such as vehicle nickname, Bluetooth connection status, speed, mileage, gear, battery information, lights, lock, units for speed and mileage, instrument backlight, cruise control, and energy recovery strength.

(3) Sharing your information

Except for the following circumstances, we will not share your personal information with any companies, organizations, or individuals other than QZ.

1) With your prior explicit consent:

With your prior explicit consent, we may disclose your personal information to third-party service providers and affiliated entities listed in this section in accordance with this Policy and applicable local data regulations, to provide the products or services you request.

In these situations, QZ will only share your personal information based on your authorization. Your authorization to QZ permits subprocessors to process your personal information. You should understand that whenever QZ shares your personal information with third-party service providers, QZ will contractually require them to comply with applicable local data protection laws and this Policy, and to adhere to privacy standards applicable in your jurisdiction.

2) For legal reasons:

Where required by applicable laws and regulations, legal processes, mandatory requirements of competent government authorities, or judicial decisions, QZ may collect, use, or disclose your personal information without your consent, within the scope explicitly permitted by local data protection laws, to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, comply with governmental requirements, and assist in the investigation of illegal activities.

In such cases, we will require the requesting party to provide valid legal documents and will apply security protection measures that comply with the law and industry standards to the disclosed information.

2. Our security safeguards

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or similar risks, we implement reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial measures to protect information collected from your smart scooter, our services, and QZ websites. We will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information.

 

Your personal information is stored on secure servers and protected in controlled facilities. We classify your data based on importance and sensitivity and ensure the highest level of security for personal information. During transmission, we use encryption technologies to keep your data confidential; we maintain the ability to ensure ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of processing systems and services; we can restore availability and access to personal data in a timely manner in the event of physical or technical incidents; and we regularly test, assess, and evaluate the effectiveness of technical and organizational measures to ensure processing security.

We limit our employees’ access to your personal information. Employees and third-party service providers who access such information to help provide Products and services to you are contractually bound by strict confidentiality obligations; failure to comply may result in disciplinary action or termination of cooperation. We also implement special access controls for cloud storage. In summary, we regularly review our information collection, storage, and processing practices, including physical security measures, to prevent unauthorized access and use.

 

We take all feasible measures to protect your personal information. However, you should be aware that use of the Internet is not always secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of personal information during transmission over the Internet.

What you can do: You can help protect your personal information by not disclosing your login password or account information to anyone (unless duly authorized by you). QZ is not responsible for security breaches resulting from your failure to maintain the confidentiality of personal information, leading to third-party access. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if any unauthorized use of your account or other security breaches occur, you must notify us immediately. Your assistance helps us protect the privacy of your personal information.

3. How we store your personal information

In accordance with laws and regulations, personal information collected and generated within the People’s Republic of China will be stored within the PRC. For product functionality needs and where permitted by law or with your authorized consent, your personal information may be transferred outside the PRC; in such cases, we will ensure that your personal information receives protection equivalent to that within the PRC.

We retain your information (including personal information) as necessary to fulfill the purposes of collection or as required or permitted by applicable laws, until it is no longer necessary to provide our Products or services to you, or until your account is deleted, or until you reset the product to factory default settings (whichever occurs first). Please note the following examples of when we delete your information (deletion means irreversible erasure such that your information cannot be recovered later):

4. How you can exercise your rights to manage personal information

In accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards in China and practices in other countries and regions, we ensure you have rights to manage your personal information.

(1) Control your privacy settings

QZ recognizes that privacy concerns vary from person to person. Below are examples of ways provided by QZ for you to choose, in order to limit the collection, use, disclosure, or processing of your personal information and control your privacy settings:

  1. Enable or disable location access.
  2. Log in to or log out of your QzScooter account.
  3. Enable or disable other services and features that process sensitive or personal information.

If you previously consented to our use of your personal information for the above purposes, you may change your decision at any time by contacting us using the methods listed in this Privacy Policy.

(2) Access or update your personal information

You have the right to request access to and updates of any personal information we hold about you. Before processing your request, we will require identity verification. Once we have sufficient information to process your request to access or correct your personal information, we will respond within the time period specified by applicable data protection laws.

Upon request, we generally provide one free copy of the personal information we have collected about you. If you request additional copies of the same information, we may charge a reasonable fee for actual administrative costs in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

(3) Delete or otherwise handle your personal information

  1. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information.
  2. You have the right to request restrictions on the processing of your personal information.
  3. You have the right not to be subject to automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal effects on you or similarly significant impacts.
  4. You have the right to receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transmit it to another data controller.

(4) Withdraw or change consent

You may withdraw your consent in the smart mobility app, or contact us as listed in this Policy. We will process your request within a reasonable time and, based on your request, will cease further collection, use, and/or disclosure of your personal information.

Please note and understand that withdrawing consent or authorization may have certain legal consequences. Depending on the scope of your withdrawal allowing us to process your personal information, this may mean that you will no longer be able to enjoy QZ’s products and services.

5. Other provisions

(1) Minors

We believe parents are responsible for supervising children’s use of our products and services. Our policy does not seek to obtain personal information from minors or send promotional materials to them.

QZ does not seek or attempt to receive any personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian has reason to believe that a minor has provided personal information to QZ without prior consent, please contact us so that we can delete such personal information.

(2) Priority

If you have agreed to an applicable User Agreement and there is any inconsistency between that User Agreement and this Policy, the User Agreement shall prevail.

(3) Updates to this Privacy Policy

We review and may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address designated in your account), publish notices on QZ websites, or provide notifications via mobile devices so that you can understand the information we collect and how we use it. Such changes will take effect from the date specified in the notice or on the website.

We recommend checking this webpage periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices. Your continued use of the products and services on websites, mobile phones, and/or other devices will be deemed acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. When we intend to collect additional personal information from you or use or disclose your personal information for new purposes, we will obtain your consent again.
